Barras Market
Renowned affectionately throughout the world as "The Barras", the Barras Market is the brainchild of a young woman who created a trading situation at the east end of Glasgow, shortly after the turn of the century. Alive every weekend with colourful market traders the Barras is the original Glasgow shopping experience. 

City Chambers
Built in the late 19th century, at the height of the city’s industrial boom, the City Chambers was opened by Queen Victoria in 1888. Standing in the very heart of Glasgow, the important and prestigious buildings have been headquarters for more than one hundred years of successive councils serving the City of Glasgow. Relish the Italian Renaissance architecture, with the equally impressive vast ceilings and lashings of marble and sumptuous décor inside.

Collins Gallery
Situated in the heart of University of Strathclyde, the Collins Gallery offers an exciting and ever changing programme of exhibitions and related events: a wide range of contemporary art, from painting to video, from fine art to photography. 

Gallery of Modern Art
In the heart of the city, this gallery offers four floors of today’s finest painting, sculpture and installations from around the world. 

George Square
Considered by many to be Glasgow’s City Centre, George Square is the best place to start seeing the sights. Laid out in the late 19th century as a showpiece of Glasgow’s prosperity, the proud Victorian buildings give an idea of the wealth back then. In the centre of the square are statues of famous Scots such as Robert Burns and James Watt, as well as an 80-feet memorial to Sir Walter Scott. The most famous attraction in George Square is the splendid City Chambers, on the east side of the square. 

Glasgow Botanic Gardens
The Botanic Gardens with its famous range of glasshouses is a major tourist attraction as well as a centre of education, conservation and research. The main glasshouse range contains a collection of tropical plants including orchids, begonias and ferns. The Kibble Palace is an 'A' listed curved iron glasshouse of international importance. 

Glasgow Science Centre
A science centre that showcases not only science and technology but the city of Glasgow as well. The science mall contains interactive exhibits, planetarium and demo theatres, IMAX providing the ultimate cinema experience, and the unique 127M rotating Glasgow tower housing galleries on the city’s past, present and future. 

Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum
Located in Kelvingrove Park, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum is clear evidence of the city's pride and confidence, with the elaborate red brick Victorian exteriors. The lower floors feature the museum galleries with sections covering areas such as natural history, Scottish archaeology and military history. There is also a massive pipe organ, which is used for the occasional recital. Upper floors hosts the Art Gallery section, which contains an excellent collection of Scottish art, together with 19th and 20th century art from around the world. Highlights include works by Raeburn, Rembrandt, Picasso, Van Gogh and Hockney. 

Kelvingrove Park
Situated between Glasgow University and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, this tranquil park features commemorative statues, fountains, tennis, bowling and a fine herbaceous border; ideal for a memorable picnic with close friends and family. 

Museum of Transport
Located in the heart of Glasgow's West End, the Museum of Transport is a must for all lovers of old vehicles. The museum is considered by many to be the best transport museum in the whole of the UK. Expect plenty of old cars, buses, trams, bikes and trains displayed in imaginative and interesting ways. 

Scottish Football Museum
Just a short drive from Glasgow city centre, this unique stadium offers displays celebrating the history of Scottish Football. 

Sharmanka Kinetic Gallery & Theatre

The Arches
An incredible venue housed in a series of Victorian Railway arches, The Arches offer an artistic programme of theatre, music, night clubs, exhibitions, fashion and popular cultural festivals. 

The Glasgow School of Art
Be awed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s architectural masterpiece that is The Glasgow School of Art. Still a working art school, there are regular guided tours allowing you the chance to experience this famous and fascinating building. 

The Tall Ship At Glasgow Harbour

l year and offers the chance to explore one of the last remaining Clydebuilt sailing ships, the s.v. Glenlee (1896). Includes exhibitions, events, activities for children, restaurant and nautical souvenir shop. 

Trades Hall
The only surviving building in Glasgow built by Robert Adams, Trades Hall was the heart of Glasgow’s commercial centre in the 18th century. Then, built as the headquarters for the joint trades guilds, the wealth and influence of the merchants is clearly evident in the elaborate carvings, décor and stained glass windows. 

Tron Theatre
Just a few yards from Glasgow Cross, the Tron Theatre is easily identified by the unmistakable 16th Century church steeple. Following completion of a £5 million redevelopment in 1999, the Tron has emerged as a stunning collection of historical buildings juxtaposed with stylish new spaces available for conferences, meetings and entertainment.
