Four bedrooms triplex in a beautifully redone Harlem townhouse
Location: New York City Harlem 118th Street (between Lenox and 7th Avenue)
Size: 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 1 roof deck. Can sleep up to 12 people.
Building: In the best part of Harlem, it is a beautiful brownstone just recently renovated. It is close to everything, 10 minutes walk from Central Park; very quiet; the back of the house faces south and has lots of trees and a great open view. Security is great. You will feel secure in a nice neighbourhood. The building has cable Internet connection.
The living room is directly into the apartment. The first floor has A loft feel to it with its 13 feet high ceiling. The loft floor is divided in 4 areas: 2 seating areas, a dining area and a kitchen. The first seating area has a TV, a VCR, a piano, two comfortable couches and two chairs. The second seating area has a day bed and a couch. That area is right across from the stairs leading to the bedrooms 1-2 and 3. Then there is a dining area with a large table sitting as many as 14 people. The dining area leads to an open kitchen. The kitchen is modern with stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops. There is a dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster and more; a very well equipped kitchen with a full set of dishes and glassware.
The kitchen has a door that opens to the back yard. It has a deck of about 150 square feet with a big Moroccan mosaic table that can seat up to 8 people and a couple of benches. At a bottom of the deck there is a yard about 600 square feet that has three round tables and two benches and garden chairs.
The bedrooms are located on the garden floor of the apartment, just below the lofty area.
At the bottom of the stairs is the bedroom #2, which is about 150 square feet. It has two windows for plenty of light. This bedroom has a queen size bed, a table, a chair, a full length mirror, a boom box and 2 closets.
The second bedroom #1 is located just down the hall and is truly the master suite. The size is about 300 square feet has 2 doors, one leading to the garden and another one leading to the master bathroom. There is a king-sized bed, a full length mirror, a closet, 1 armchair, 1 chair, a table, a love seat, a flat screen TV and a DVD player.
The third bedroom #3 is also on the same floor. It measures about 80 square feet, and has a queen-size bed, a dresser, and a closet. There is also a desk with a computer and a stereo system as well as a nightstand. There are decorated white walls and a window overlooking the garden.
The fourth bedroom #4 is a mini-apartment with its own living room and half bathroom. Furnished with a double-size sofa bed which can sleep two people. Sheets are provided. There is A/C.
The two main bathrooms are located on the level of bedrooms 1-2-3. One bathroom is located between bedroom 2 and 3 and contains a full tub/shower, W/C and sink.
The second bathroom is connected to the master suite and is quite spacious, about 50 square feet. It has a separate tub and shower. The shower is glass enclosed. There are double sinks and a makeup area as well as the standard W/C.
There is absolutely no smoking in the house.
Neighbourhood: 1 minute walk from the subway (line 2 and 3 express) that brings you all the way downtown on the West Side. A great supermarket 1 minute walk, with about anything you need. It is 10 minutes walk from Central Park. The best restaurants in Harlem at the end of the street and a great coffee place and bakery at the corner. Lots of shopping in the area. Lots of buses on Lenox Avenue going up and downtown, east and west.
