Building: The apartment is on the 2nd floor (33 steps up, no elevator) of an 1842 brownstone in the heart of Greenwich Village. Waverly Place is a lovely tree-lined street, the site of several Henry James’ novels. For security reasons, the front door is kept locked and each tenant has his own key.
Interior: Light and spacious, with plenty of windows, there are high ceilings with the original mouldings. There is a large bedroom with a queen size bed and cable television, and a smaller bedroom with a double bed. All bed liens are supplied. There are two large closets, and several chests of drawers. The living room has a sofa bed, cable television and a telephone with answering machine. Also, there is a dining table. In the kitchen there is a standard oven and cook-top, a microwave oven, a toaster oven, a coffee maker and a dishwasher. There are plenty of dishes, table ware, and pots and pans. The bathroom has a bathtub with shower, and is completely supplied with all necessities, including all bath linens.
Each room is air-conditioned separately, (except the kitchen and bath).
Neighbourhood: Located across the street from one of New York’s finest and most popular restaurants, Babbo. Also ½ block from Washington Square Park. Nearby are the famous food shops of the village, ethnic restaurants of all kinds, antique shops, off-Broadway theatres, and movies. Plenty of night life with discos and jazz clubs.
