This is a one bedroom, approximately 1000 sq. ft.
BUILDING:
This gracious 18 story pre-war red brick building
was constructed around 1920 and is on First Avenue
at 58th Street, less than a block from prestigious
Sutton Place. There is a full-time doorman and
laundry facilities are in the basement. The
full-service amenities, convenient transportation
and fine stores on the street level facing First
Avenue make this gracious apartment much sought
after.
APARTMENT INTERIOR:
This high floor apartment is very spacious. Each
room is well designed architecturally, and
tastefully decorated by a New York interior
designer. There is a large entrance corridor opening
to the kitchen and living room. The kitchen is fully
equipped and there is a round dining room table by
the window. The living room is exquisite! There is a
grand piano in the corner facing the sofa and the
wall pictures are lighted. The ebonized wood floors,
9' high ceilings and eclectic mix of antiques and
other fine furniture create a warm and sophisticated
atmosphere. This is a wonderful place for
entertainment. The bedroom is all the way to the end
with a queen size bed with luxurious linens. The
sofa in the living room can sleep one additional
guest and there is also a queen-sized air mattress
available. The updated bathroom renovated in 2007 is
also very comfortable in size complete with
Waterworks shower/bath fixtures. There is a lot of
closet space available. The apartment commands a
very bright and open view facing east and gets
plenty of direct light all day long. The mornings
are particularly bright with the direct sunlight
flooding the apartment. The bedroom has a
wall-mounted 32" flat-screen cable television and
the apartment has both Ethernet and wireless
internet connections. There is also 24" Apple iMac
in the bedroom available for use. The apartment is
extremely quiet and there is no street noise.
NEIGHBOURHOOD:
Sutton place is one of the most affluent
neighbourhoods in Manhattan and is close to the East
River for your morning walk. Central Park is very
near as well. Shopping on Madison, and Fifth Avenue,
Bloomingdale's, Bed Bath and Beyond, The Conran
Shop, and Saks Fifth Avenue are all at walking
distance. There is ample nightlife within blocks of
the building. You will find fine restaurants around,
such as Rosa Mexicano, Mr. Chow, Sofrito, Lever
House and Le Perigord not to mention many fine local
restaurants featuring nearly any cuisine imaginable.
There is also a convenient café on the corner for
coffee, tea, pastries and sandwiches.
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION:
Taxi's and Buses can be found right outside the
building. The Subway Train is on Lexington and 59:
