Description - New York Furnished Accommodation (NY-11288)
Studio in the East Village
This studio has an area of approximately 220 square feet and
is located on the third floor of building, which was built
before the Civil War. Residents enter with their own keys
and visitors are admitted through an intercom system. This
apartment is in an area that is artsy and bohemian. It is
perfectly suited for the laid back and easy-going and is
perfect for those with a modest travel budget.
From the hallway there is access to the living room/bedroom,
which measures approximately 150 square feet. This bright
room, which faces the street side, has white walls and
wooden floors. The furniture includes an armchair, a coffee
table with two stools, an armchair and a decorative
fireplace. There is a queen-size bed, which sleeps two
people and the sheets and blankets are provided. The room is
equipped with air conditioner for the summer and heat for
the winter, a television with a VCR, wireless DSL, a
telephone for local calls, a refrigerator, a toaster and
coffeemaker.
In the hallway there is a spacious mirrored closet and a
unit of shelves.
The bathroom is basic with a sink, bathtub with shower, and
a toilet. Towels are provided.
The streets of the East Village are home to colourful stores
of every kind, as well many clubs, bars, coffeehouses and
restaurants for the eclectic taste buds. The whole area is
vibrant and busy during the day and night. Many students
populate this area, because it's near New York University
and Cooper Union University. It is a very bohemian area of
New York and it's perfect for people who love the night
life. At the moment there is construction all around the
area and it could be noisy.
The Lower East
Side
This is New York's landmark historic Jewish
neighbourhood, which was once the world's largest Jewish
community. It was here that the New York garment
industry began. Today it is one of New York's favourite
bargain beats, where serious shoppers find fantastic
bargains (especially along Orchard Street on a Sunday
afternoon), cutting-edge new designers, and hot bars and
music venues - and possibly the best place to get a
great pastrami sandwich, pickles out of a barrel, and
the world's best bialys. Try Katz's Delicatessen (205
East Houston St.), the oldest and largest real NY deli,
founded in 1888.
