Building: In a 24-hr’s doorman building with elevator. Unit is
on the 19th floor, facing East and North. Pre-war building.
Interior: Spacious, and beautiful furnished apartment in a
contemporary style. All floors are hardwoods. There is closet
space. Two bedrooms with a Queen size bed in one of them and two
single beds in the other. Linens and towels, pot and pans
provided. There is a colour TV and stereo in the living room.
There is plenty of room for the tenant to store clothes and
papers. Unusual two bedroom, two bath apartment in the heart of
New York City. High ceilings, very sunny, decorated in
modern/Art Deco style. The views are spectacular; you can see
one end of Manhattan to the other, facing East, North, and
South. The bedroom is very large by any standards. There are two
televisions, two stereo systems, and CDs. The second bedroom has
a den feeling, with wood panels and many windows. There is
dishwasher in the completely equipped kitchen, with a large
window. Beautiful cherry wood floors throughout, oriental rugs,
and curved sofa. This apartment is very luxurious, and large,
about 1350 sq. ft., a wonderful oasis in the middle of town.
Neighbourhood: Midtown east is a nice area, within short walking
distance to Central Park and the Madison. There are several
restaurants in the immediate area.
Transportation: Subway 6 at Lexington Avenue and 59th Street.
Busses at the Avenues. Taxis around.
Midtown
Midtown, which extends from 34th Street to Central Park
South between First and Eighth Avenues, is Manhattan's
main business, commercial and shopping district. Many
famous landmarks are here, including the Empire State
Building, the Chrysler Building and Rockefeller Center.
Other attractions include the United Nations, the Museum
of Modern Art, the New York Public Library, the Pierpont
Morgan Library, the Museum of Television and Radio, and
St. Patrick's Cathedral.
